The Florida
Hospital Pain Medicine Center provides a comprehensive approach
and treatment options to treat individuals who suffer from
chronic pain associated with an injury or illness.
Our program,
through an outpatient care environment, focuses on whole person
health, blending the wellness of mind, body and spirit. We
believe in treating not only the illness, but also addressing
the lifestyle habits and environmental factors that impact
your health in order to help you achieve a healthier outcome.
Your personalized
pain management treatment plan begins with a complete diagnostic
assessment. This valuable resource is used to create an appropriate
wellness program that assists you in improving the quality
of day-to-day activities and self-management skills.
Personalized
Treatment
Your evaluation
plan begins with a thorough review of your health history,
as well as a review of any previous records and diagnostic
studies available. You will also receive a physical
examination.
Your physician
will then outline the appropriate treatment options for you.
These options may include interventional therapies and/or
rehabilitative modalities. Interventional therapies
provided by our doctors include diagnostic and therapeutic
injections, implantation therapy such as spinal cord stimulation
and implantation of spinal drug delivery systems, treatments
for disc pain, and radiofrequency therapy. Some patients
may also benefit from learning self-directed pain management
skills. In these cases, a referral to a health psychologist
specializing in pain management will be provided.
Your
treatment will be coordinated by our pain management physicians
who are board-certified anesthesiologists. You may also
benefit in the treatment of your pain through an entire professional
team approach that includes nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists,
case managers and dietitians, all at Florida Hospital.
